This amazing Intarsia wood inlay coffee table is inspired by the dazzling coat of the Cheetah, giving tribute to these most beautiful of creatures.
Now you see them now you do not, as the camouflage of their coat blends them into the vegetation of their habitat.
The swirl of this Intarsia wood inlay coffee table design gives emphasis to the grace, speed and elegance of these shy and special cats.
The two woods rosewood and yellow teak, worked beautifully together here to give a sense of a turning globe.
Table top in a heat and alcohol resistant finish.
The bases (legs) can be made in wrought iron add £175.- or a choice of woods e.g. Rosewood, Walnut or in Laminated woods add £ 400.-
As Wall Panels they are polished with a beeswax finish and a hanging hook on the back.
As Table top they are finished with a satin acrylic laquer which is heat and alcohol resistant.

I thought this years Cheltenham Celebration of Craftmanship was a bit of a mixed bag, but one of the stand-out pieces was Alardus van den Bosch's Cheetah coffee table. Sadly photographs don't do justice to the extraordinary patterning on the top, but the effect is a marquetry whirlpool of leaves in yellow and black at the top.It was encouraging to see a contempory approach to marquetry and its use in modern furniture like this.The result puts a smile on your face and a tingle up the spine, something which I have found to be all too rare at this show over the years.
