Canterbury Tales Intarsia Wood Inlay Table Mats/Placemats

The Canterbury Tales set of Intarsia wood inlay table mats/placemats are an exciting visual interpretation of 12 of the most known of the Canterbury Tales. These are accompanied by two beautifully designed centre mats, one of the Pilgrims meeting at TheTabbard Inn and the other of The Approach to Canterbury.

The Canterbury Tales

Written by Geoffrey Chaucer around 1387. The Canterbury Tales are a collection of fascinating stories told by a group of Medieval Pilgrims on horseback

The Pilgims travelled together on a Pilgrimage from London to Canterbury, each character tells their own story, some are philosophical, some are humourous and bawdy, and others romantic. Each tale highlights different aspects of human nature and are a great conversational and entertaining subject at a dinner table.

All of the Intarsia wood inlay designs are unique and original, they are not copies of pre-existing medieval designs.
