The Medieval Hunt Intarsia Wood Inlay Mirror with its inlaid solid Rosewood mirror frame is a classical example of Intarsia or Wood Inlay.
The many different woods show their natural colours and are hand cut, and then inlayed. Faces and hands are Staghorn, engraved and rubbed in with black beeswax to allow for the finer detail.
The theme of the Hunt depicts rural scenes starting on the rightside with 'The Chase' and at the bottom of the frame 'The retreat after the hunt' and on the leftside a pastoral scene depicting medieval 'Pursuits and Pastimes' with the Musicians, Lovers,Tavern and back home in 'The Castle' at the top.
Original designs inspired from Medieval Tapestries and Illuminated Manuscripts.

The Intarsia wood inlay mirror frames are polished with a beeswax finish.
